On April 14, 2023, the Hefei University of Technology-Modeling Tech Real-Time Simulation Joint Laboratory was officially unveiled in Room 204 of the Yifu Building at the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Hefei University of Technology. Professor Haihong Huang, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Hefei University of Technology, Professor Jianhui Su, Director of the Energy Research Institute at Hefei University of Technology, Associate Professor Yan Du from the same college, and Mr. Xu Liu, Vice General Manager of Modeling Tech jointly unveiled the laboratory. Also present at the ceremony were teachers from Hefei University of Technology, including Teacher Yong Shi, Teacher Bao Xie, and Engineer Yate Liu from Modeling Tech.

During the discussion, both parties engaged in friendly exchanges regarding the laboratory's current course offerings and applications. They also discussed and planned the laboratory's future development goals, exchanged views on graduate teaching, industry-academia-research cooperation, and the future construction goals of the university-enterprise joint laboratory. Hefei University of Technology mentioned that as of now, the semi-physical simulation teaching and research application have been performing well, and the laboratory construction is meeting the expected goals. Public experimental courses have reached maximum capacity, and they hope to make larger-scale investments in semi-physical simulation laboratory construction in the future. Mr. Liu, representing Modeling Tech, stated that the university-enterprise joint laboratory not only requires the company to provide high-performance equipment to the university but also needs to serve as a catalyst for the advancement of industry-academia-research projects, enabling students to better adapt to societal needs using advanced equipment platforms.

Ms. Du Yan specifically introduced the teaching and research achievements of the laboratory to everyone. The laboratory is mainly used for graduate education and research in the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering. The real-time simulation device HIL and rapid control prototyping machine RCP from Modeling Tech constitute a closed-loop control experimental environment, which is at the technological forefront and highly safe and efficient. With this platform, relevant teachers have developed popular elective experimental courses and also assisted graduate students in publishing numerous research papers.
